Video test: Sony PMW-100 camcorder

Sony’s PMW-100 could be a practical option for small video teams and journalists shooting their own material, as well as for material destined for the web, as our field tests showed.

We tested the camera in full auto mode, under a range of lighting conditions, as well as seeing how well it performed for a self-op piece to camera.

The second clip shows some low-light samples, indoors with mixed light sources. The video was filmed in a small local cafe, with natural light coming in through the windows. The large jumps in lighting are mostly caused by large vehicles (busses or trucks) passing outside and blocking the sunlight!

For more on the PMW-100 see our detailed written review of the camera.
